A couple were found guilty of abusing 2 little boys and have been jailed.

Time and time again we are told that " yes we made mistakes, but lessons have been learned " but have they. It seems not as we keep hearing stories like this time and time again. Whose fault is it. The foster parents? Social workers? Councils? The goverment and what really needs to happen to ensure this does not happen again?

Who decides when that bruise on the kids arm is an accident or deliberate? Who wants to be the person who hauls parents in front of a court for abuse when it isn't? It is not as easy as some people seem to think it is. And where does it all happen? In the home. In private. Away from all those who might intervene.

The primary fault lies with the abusers, thankfully they have been sentenced to 7 and 4 years, of course they won't serve anywhere near that length of time.. Sadly I expect its not possible to ensure it never happens again though.

There will be a review and with the benefit of hindsight and unlimited time to review actions Social Workers will probably be damned.

    It will happen again

In reality no system will be good enough to stop it and the blame lies fair and square with the abuser.
