No divorce for 5 years

    There is a story on the BBC news site about a spouse that cannot divorce here husband of 40 years until they have been legally seperated for 5 years, which means she will have to stay married until 2020 at which time she can obtain a divorce with or without her spouses consent.

    I had no idea, that this was still the law in the UK, and i can't imagine why anyone would want their spouse to stay if they hated being married so much. Seems to be a very archaic law to me and maybe the UK should and could learn some lessons from other countries.
