Just wondering. Despite the impression that everyone in America owns a gun. They don't. Would you if you could? Would it make you feel safer?

I really don't think I would feel any safer, you can currently be almost certain that those around you arent carrying a gun, if ownership was legal you would no longer be quite so certain.

How many of the guns in the UK are owned legally, would you also allow the right to carry the gun concealed? Would you be allowed to use it if you felt you were being threatened,

I cannot believe I would no, not even if I took proper training so I stood a reasonable chance of hitting the target. And whatever proportion of Americans have one it's far far higher than in Western Europe but seems to do little for their crime rate.

I suppose the question will only resonate if you feel unsafe to start off with, which I don't.
